A few dance steps in the street one evening of Music Festival. The scene would not be surprising if the man who sketched them was not Patrick Balkany. Dressed in a pink sweater, the happy face, the former councilor of Levallois-Perret, in the Hauts-de-Seine, seems to have recovered well from his health problems. He had been released in mid-February after spending five months in detention, due to his state of health which was considered to be of great concern.

At the end of May, the Paris Court of Appeal sentenced him to five years in prison for money laundering and tax evasion without, however, requesting his immediate imprisonment. A few weeks earlier, the former baron of Hauts-de-Seine, aged 71, had already received four years in prison, one of which was suspended for tax evasion. Could Patrick Balkany return to prison? Theoretically, if a new medical study were ordered and established a clear improvement in his state of health, the court could order his reincarceration. However, this remains unlikely, especially given its age.
