- It will be hot for the rest of the week. A high pressure coming from the North Atlantic draws in warm and dry air from southwestern Europe, says SVT meteorologist Diana Bajic.

Temperatures start to rise as early as Tuesday and culminate into the weekend.

SMHI is expected to issue a warning of the high temperatures.

- It should usually be a warning if it should be over 30 degrees more than three consecutive days. This is because many of our latitudes cannot withstand the heat so well, the elderly and the seriously ill must be careful, says Diana Bajic.

Tropical nights are expected

In the coming nights temperatures can stay above 20 degrees, so called tropical nights. Such high temperatures during the day and night are not normal for the month of June.

- But it's not unusual either, says Diana Bajic.

Next week more normal temperatures are expected, around 20 degrees and possibly rain.
