A 21-year-old man was sentenced to two years in prison, including ten months firm by the Vannes criminal court on Thursday for having caused a dramatic road accident in January 2019 in Guégon, not far from Ploërmel (Morbihan). An 81-year-old woman died and her 80-year-old husband was seriously injured, reports Ouest-France .

The facts had taken place on departmental 4. At the wheel of his mother's car, the young driver had passed a heavyweight of 18 meters in a curve and without visibility. He had violently struck the car which arrived opposite where the couple of octogenarians was. The man, who had visibly smoked a joint the previous day, had been tested positive for narcotics.

In addition to his prison sentence, the accused saw his driver's license canceled. He is forbidden to pass it before a period of three years. At the helm, the young man apologized and said he had never driven back in a year and a half.
