Three people were killed in a stabbing in a park in the British city of Reading on Saturday evening. Three others were injured. A 25-year-old man has been arrested near Forbury Gardens park, local police report.
The police do not assume a terrorist motive, although the Reading police remain alert. The three injured were taken to hospital.
A Black Lives Matter protest took place in the park three hours before the stabbing. According to the British police, there is no indication that the stabbing has anything to do with the protest. The motive for the stabbing is still unclear.
Emergency services, including some trauma helicopters, flocked due to the incident. The police arrived at the scene of the incident at around 7:00 PM (local time). People are called upon to stay away from the park.
Reading is located over 70 kilometers west of London in the county of Berkshire.
