In an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, Gunzburg was asked to forecast the start of mass production of the vaccine and mass vaccination against coronavirus.

“In order to switch to mass vaccination of the population of our country, a completely unprecedented task is ahead - the need to release about 50-60, and possibly 70 million doses of this drug,” he replied.

At the same time, according to the scientist, in case of successful completion of the clinical trials of the vaccine, the release of the drug may begin in early autumn.

“The country's leadership and healthcare organizations are already taking measures to establish the process of scaling up vaccine production,” Gunzburg added.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense, together with the Gamalea center, began to test the vaccine from COVID-19 in humans.

The drug was administered to the first 18 volunteers.
