1,800 people in the metropolitan regions have responded to how they view commuting in the near future. And for Västtrafik, the figures look bleak when many choose to work at home or go to work on foot or by bicycle instead of going public.

- We see that people respond that everyone who has now left public transport does not expect to come back to public transport when the pandemic ebbs, says Björn Öhman, traffic analyst.

Why is it so?

- There is a fear of going public that people know now and that they believe will remain. Many people have the opportunity to work at home, and 85% say that in the future they will work one or more days away from home.
