The candidate head of the ecological list in Lille, Stéphane Baly, called on Sunday the macronist voters waiting for "change" to "not make a mistake" in the second round, considering that in this triangular "a vote" for

"Here we are, the choice is historic. Next Sunday, the people of Lille really have the choice between a fourth term (from Martine Aubry, Editor's note), but to do what?" and "the vote to change," he said at a press conference.

"The match will be between Martine Aubry and me," repeated the man who won March 15 24.5% of the vote, against 29.8% for the socialist mayor and 17.5% for Violette Spillebout.

Mr. Baly therefore launched "an appeal not to be mistaken" because "next Sunday, the Violette Spillebout vote is a Martine Aubry vote".

"Many voters tempted by the Spillebout vote are finally waiting for a legitimate improvement in the living environment" in a polluted city lacking green spaces, "a renewal of democratic practices and we must not be mistaken: change is well the + Lille verte + bulletin ", he insisted.

Voting EELV "is a vote in tune with society," he said, detailing his program "in tune" with the proposals of the Citizen Climate Convention (CCC), wanted by Emmanuel Macron.

On the evening of the first round, Violette Spillebout had reached out to Mr. Baly, but the latter had rejected his proposal: "Politically I have an enemy who is LREM, Siamese list with LR".

"Those who voted Macron for the European project or public freedoms (…) are disillusioned today", added the national secretary of EELV Julien Bayou, judging that "for the environment, Europe, social justice, democratic renewal ", the best vote," it's Baly ".

Mr. Bayou also mentioned the voters of La France insoumise (LFI), ensuring "to share" with them "certain questions", in particular on housing: "If their priority is housing, it's better to vote Baly! ", he suggested.

The LFI candidate, Julien Poix (8.8%), announced on May 31 that he would refuse to choose between the PS of Martine Aubry and EELV: "we regret that EELV and the PS, the two parties of the outgoing municipal majority , have chosen to indulge in the usual political turmoil where the struggle for places is raging ".
