June 21, 2020 Three people died stabbed by a man in a park in Reading, a city halfway between London and Swindon. Three other people are injured. The attack occurred in Forbury Gardens at 20 Italian time yesterday. During the night the police confirmed the incident. Security sources quoted by the BBC reported that a man allegedly Libyan has been arrested.

Police do not treat aggression as terrorism, but counterterrorism officers have been questioned. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said his "thoughts are with everyone affected by the terrible Reading accident." My "thanks to the emergency services on the spot," he added.

An eyewitness told the BBC that he saw a man jump from group to group stabbing people and then quickly left the park. According to the Sunday Mirror, a police officer "tackled a suspect on the ground in rugby style." Secretary of the Interior, Priti Patel , published a Twitter post in which she said she was "deeply concerned" about the accident. He added: "My thoughts are with everyone involved, including police and on-site rescuers."

The leader of the Labor Party, Sir Keir Starmer , also called the stabbing "very worrying". The incident is not believed to be related to a previous protest by the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in the park, but this has not yet been confirmed. People have been asked to keep away from the area.
