Between the call for a cinematic work that commemorates him, protest pauses and the inauguration of an institution in his name to defend democracy and demanding the United Nations to investigate his departure, the Egyptian opposition abroad commemorated the first anniversary of the death of former President Mohamed Morsi.

The commemoration activities took place over a full week in the Turkish city of Istanbul, where the beginning was last Sunday, through the organization of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council, a political forum through the Zom electronic application on the death of the late president, condemning the reasons that led to his departure.

Watan TV channel, affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood, broadcast a recorded conference on Wednesday, under the title "Martyr President Icon of Freedom", with the participation of 100 personalities from 40 countries, most notably the former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, former British Labor Party Chairman Jeremy Corbin, and former adviser to Thai Prime Minister Jaran Maaloulin, the Governor of Cape Town, South Africa, Ibrahim Rasoul, and the Permanent Representative of the Comoros State to the League of Arab States Jaafar Sheikh Ahmed, followed on Thursday by a virtual art festival with the participation of Egyptian and Arab singers.

While the 21 Arab news website held a symposium in Istanbul to discuss the prospects of the Arab Spring on the first anniversary of Morsi's departure, attended by Yasin Aktai, advisor to the Turkish president, Golden Suns, legal adviser to President Morsi, and with a pre-recorded participation of former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki, Ahmed, son of President Morsi, and the Yemeni activist Tawakk Kerman, and Khaled al-Mashri, president of the Supreme Council of State in Libya.

The Hurriyat Center for Political Studies also organized a seminar in the presence of Tariq Al-Zomer, former head of the Construction and Development Party, and Yassin Aktay, advisor to the Turkish president, to discuss the Egyptian and Turkish experiences in the face of military coups.

While the Association of Egyptian Media Personnel Abroad held a symposium titled "Egyptian Media between Revolution and Coup", to talk about media freedoms during the Morsi and Sisi rule.

Morsi for democracy

British lawyer Toby Cadman, President of the International Chambers of Justice (Guernica 37) and lawyer at the International Criminal Court, announced the inauguration of the "Morsi for Democracy" as an international institution bearing the name of the late Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, to perpetuate his memory and work on the continuation of his "peaceful approach and struggle in support of democracy and justice" And human rights, ”in implementation of a will from Abdullah, the son of President Morsi, who died months later.

The President of the International Defense Team, on the authority of President Morsi and his family, issued a statement calling on the United Nations to ensure an effective investigation into Morsi's death, and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

On the level of the popular movement to commemorate the anniversary, the firefighting field in Istanbul, Turkey, and in front of the Eiffel Tower in the French capital Paris, witnessed the establishment of two stops to commemorate the death of Morsi.

A coup against democracy

And yesterday, Saturday, the activities of the first anniversary of the departure of the former Egyptian president concluded with a seminar through the application of Zoom organized by the Egyptian Forum "Parliamentarians for Freedom" in cooperation with the "Morsi Foundation for Democracy", to discuss the future of democracy in the Middle East.

During the symposium, former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki confirmed that everyone knows that what happened with the late President Mohamed Morsi was not a coup against the Islamists, but rather a coup against democracy, stressing that "the curse of Mohamed Morsi will continue to chase them until the end of history."

While the former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad expressed his hope that many who want to establish democracy in their countries, study the experience of Morsi in Egypt, a good study of its importance, considering Morsi a martyr who struggled to reach the people of Egypt to the best condition.

For its part, Yemeni activist, Nobel Prize winner, Tawakkol Karman said, "The late Egyptian president will remain one of the most prominent and important icons of the Arab Spring, for his adherence to the spirit and essence of the glorious January revolution, and for his legendary steadfastness in his inhumane detention."

She stressed that what happened to Morsi was "a premeditated matter, and an international investigation must be opened to uncover the truth, so that the killer does not escape punishment, and this is the duty of the international community now, where justice must take its course."

As for the head of the Supreme Council of State in Libya, Khaled al-Mashri, he stressed that his country was facing the same counterrevolution that had killed the late Egyptian president, adding that Morsi had turned at the Arab level into a symbol of the popular and liberal struggle.

International scandal

While Yassin Aktai, advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, considered that the late Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was not arrested, but "kidnapped".

He stressed that the scene of his death exposes all the crimes committed by the world system, not just the Egyptian regime, due to his silence on that crime, and he is the first elected president of Egypt.

While the Secretary General of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahmoud Hussein pointed out that the coup against the President-elect and imprisoned him on fabricated cases, then he fell dead in the image that took place and the world watched without a global reaction amounted to the outrage of what happened; It represents a crime that will remain stuck in the forehead of international justice and a black point that will remain stuck in the forehead of the putschists.

An international struggle

For its part, the Turkish human rights defender Golden Suns said, "As lawyers for the Morsi family and for human rights, we announce that we will again and again make greater efforts to continue the legal struggle before the national courts and international judicial authorities, regarding the crimes committed in Egypt and against Muhammad Morsi and members of his family."

In turn, he called the Egyptian artist Hisham Abdel Hamid to address the issue of freedom adopted by the late President Mohamed Morsi in a different artistic way, through the soft forces that are able to transfer the Egyptian issue to the regional and international level, through cinematic works that can create a lot of influence and positive display of the concept of freedom.

While the head of the Egyptian Media Association abroad called on Hamza Zoubaa to produce a feature film about Morsi's life, pointing out that the Egyptian association and channels abroad will adopt the proposal and cooperate to produce this film.
