The celebration of summer camps this year 2020 will depend on the regional and municipal decisions , which are legislating on the conditions under which these leisure and free time activities can be held in the framework of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the latest data from the National Collective of Summer Camps to which Europa Press has had access, about 50% of the organizing companies of camps will not open their doors this year and a large part of them are doomed to a definitive closure.

However, 10 days from the date the camps begin, they regret that they have not achieved "a clear and unique protocol" to know how they should work, according to the group's spokesperson, José Manuel Fernández , and only six communities - Valencian Community, Catalonia, Madrid, Castilla y León, Galicia and Extremadura - have published a document that helps them know how to do it.

Madrid

The Community of Madrid has published a guide for the organization of leisure and free time activities. In camping, the protocol indicates that the use of large tents , or other camping facilities, that allow easy ventilation and always guaranteeing the minimum distance of physical separation, with an interpersonal distance of at least 1.5 / 2, will be prioritized. meters, with alignment of one child's feet, another child's head.

In this line of summer leisure activities, the Madrid City Council has announced that they will add another 1,680 places in the 21 districts for the urban camps that add to the 1,500 announced last week, in addition to another 430 places for minors with disabilities. In addition, the temperature will be taken and there will be one monitor for every five children between 3 and 5 years old and another monitor for every nine boys and girls between 6 and 12 years old.

Castilla y León

The Active Network (overnight camps), Volunteer Camps, English Courses and Artistic and Cultural Promotion Courses, under the name 'Rural Camps CyL', will develop 40 overnight camps , with nautical, multi-adventure, robotic or English activities, in each of which 48 children between 12 and 17 years old will participate, divided into two age groups and keeping all the security measures.

Aragon

Meanwhile, in Aragon , children will be able to participate in summer camps with overnight stays from the age of 12 , as long as the maximum number of participants is 50, between kids and monitors, and there will be one monitor for every ten participants. Minors may not use tents but must sleep in a fixed facility that cannot exceed 75% occupancy. The rooms can only be occupied at 50% of their capacity and the bunk beds, in which only one person can sleep, will have a minimum separation of 1.5 meters.

The Rioja

In La Rioja, the General Directorate of Youth has decided not to hold national and international Volunteer Fields this summer, nor the Rioja Joven Camps program. The decision has been adopted in consensus with the General Directorate of Health and taking the health and health criteria of people as priorities, considering that the safety of people and strict compliance with health protocols in health activities cannot be guaranteed. these characteristics, as they have specified.

Cantabria

For its part, the Government of Cantabria will offer this summer to young people up to 30 years of age a total of 200 places in the network of hostels in the region to carry out leisure and sports activities within the 'Adventure Young People' program, which has been adapted year to sanitary needs.

Estremadura

Extremadura will have a summer campaign that will benefit 3,000 young people , it has also published a protocol in which it is explained that activities such as camps can be carried out as long as hygiene, cleaning and social distancing measures are followed. Among other indications, the following stand out: a maximum number of participants per outdoor activity of 100, including monitors and division by groups of a maximum of 20 people, rooms at 50% capacity, and one person per tent .

Balearic Islands

In addition, in the Balearic Islands, different areas of the Palma City Council are coordinating to promote activities during the summer, but it is something that "is not yet closed and needs to be presented", according to the Europa Press from the consistory. Likewise, the Social Welfare area is working on a summer plan for vulnerable children in Palma and is preparing a package of activities and workshops in order to offer the most sensitive victims of the crisis caused by Covid-19.

Precisely, Save the Children has asked the Government and the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces for an extraordinary plan of socio-educational activities to support vulnerable children this summer, in the form of camps, urban neighborhoods or combined educational reinforcement, sports and leisure programs. "In the summer the learning inequalities are enlarged according to the socioeconomic level of the families, due to the unequal access to educational, sports and cultural activities, outside and inside the house", warned the director of Childhood Policies of the NGO, Catalina Perazzo.
