Federal prosecutor Jeffrey Berman fired: has investigated and prosecuted multiple Trump cronies

On June 20, local time, US Attorney General William Barr said that Trump had expelled Jeffrey Berman, a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, at his own request.

Since taking office in January 2018, Berman has investigated and prosecuted several Trump cronies, including Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer, and is investigating another personal Trump lawyer, Giuliani. Giuliani's two business partners have also been sued by Berman.

The US Department of Justice issued a Barr-signed press release on the evening of the 19th, saying that New York federal prosecutor Berman was "resigning." Then Berman stated that "there was no resignation and no intention to resign." (CCTV reporter Liu Xiaoqian)
