"The reminder pointed out that according to the latest news from the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, holders of Schengen visas (signed C) who cannot leave Germany during the new crown epidemic can have their expired visas extended to September 30.

  According to the latest regulations, foreign citizens who enter Germany with a valid Schengen visa on March 17 or staying in Germany with a valid Schengen visa or from March 17 to the effective date of these regulations can stay on the expired Schengen visa until September 30, 2020. When you leave the country, you only need to show your valid passport and expired Schengen visa, no additional proof is required (for convenience, I suggest you print and carry this regulation for future reference).

  This regulation came into effect on June 19, 2020. The latest regulation is an extension of the Schengen visa extension policy announced by the Federal Ministry of the Interior on April 9.

  It should be specially reminded that the above regulations do not apply to those holding a German country visa (D visa). Holders of D visas must apply to the local foreign exchange administration for visa extension before the visa expires. The self-renewal application is submitted to the SAFE to decide whether to extend the visa or not. The visa or residence period during this period is still valid. In order to avoid unnecessary trouble when leaving the country or to leave bad records for yourself, please promptly apply to the local SAFE for extension.
