While an investigation was opened for suspicions of proxy fraud during the first round of municipal elections in Marseille, candidate RN Stéphane Ravier decided to join the proceedings. His party also requests the cancellation of the proxies concerned.

REPORTAGE

In Marseille, the controversy does not fall, just over a week from the second round of municipal elections, which promises to be very tight, according to a BVA poll for Europe 1. Last Friday, a preliminary investigation was opened in particular for "false" about the establishment of proxies for the second round in the camp of candidate LR for mayor Martine Vassal, according to a "simplified" procedure but which could be illegal. And in the 6th sector, another scandal broke out, with the discovery of powers of attorney established for about fifty residents, often suffering from Alzheimer's disease, without their knowledge, according to the families. The candidate RN Stéphane Ravier announced Friday that he was a civil party, while his party could file appeals after the second round.

In the 6th sector, the right came first with 1,000 votes, just in front of the RN and the list of Franck Allisio. The latter does not imagine that the scenario could be repeated in the second round. "These proxies were valid in the first round but, also valid and signed for the second round. Now that these illegal proxies have been found, they cannot be valid for the second round. These proxies must obviously be canceled" , he claims at the microphone of Europe 1. And to continue: "It is about fifteen polling stations where there were problems, and not an isolated act. Our assessors are not there to have mafia methods on their backs. "

"It calls into question the first round"

The RN is therefore already thinking of filing appeals at the end of the second round, believing that the result is likely to be distorted. A position shared by the DVD candidate Bruno Gilles. "I have a candidate who was my head of the list in the 9th and 10th arrondissements, and who missed the possibility of staying in the second round by 50 votes," he said. "When we talk about thousands of powers of attorney that could have been issued in violation of rules and laws, that calls into question the first round."
