Guy Verhofstadt talks about the recovery plan for the European economy after the Covid-19 crisis. An agreement between the 27 has not yet been found, but it welcomes the European Commission's proposal to finance this plan, not by pooling debts, but by resources external to the European Union, in particular by a tax on digital giants - GAFA - and on imports of products harmful to our environment.

As for the closing or reopening of borders, he said it should be decided not by state but at EU level and in a coordinated manner.

Questioned finally on the question of racism and the colonial past - and in particular the question of the unbolt of the statues of king Léopold II in Belgium -, Guy Verhofstadt considers that the politicians and the Western states have the duty to recognize their faults and their errors.
