Several political ads from Donald Trump's campaign for the fall election have been downloaded by Facebook. In one of them, the left-wing extremist movement is criticized together with an image of an up and down triangle. A symbol used in Nazi Germany.

That's something that has got Facebook to act and now the social media giant has taken sharp action by pulling down several ads, CNN reports.

The organization Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which is working to identify anti-Semitic groups and other extremist groups, highlighted the campaign that shows the up and down triangle and said it is "identical to symbols used by the Nazis to divide Jewish prisoners in concentration camps."

"Contrary to our policy"

- We removed the posts and ads as they violated our policy against organized hatred. Our policy prohibits the use of prohibited hate groups' symbols that identify political prisoners without a context that condemns or discusses the symbol, says Facebook spokesman Andy Stone.

Those responsible for the Trump campaign, sponsored by the president himself according to the Washington Post, respond to the criticism, claiming that the triangle is a symbol "regularly used by Antifa". They also urge Trump supporters to support the president's goal to stand up to the movement.

Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have received harsh criticism after controversial Donald Trump posts have been left on the platform.
