EU summit 90 trillion yen reconstruction fund talks did not agree with other countries

The EU=European Union has come to Japan for the restructuring of the economy hit by the new coronavirus, and has come to a meeting at the summit meeting held on the 19th with regard to the allocation of a new fund of 90 trillion yen. This month, we will have another discussion.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the economy in the EU has been hit hard by the possibility that the GDP of the euro area for the year may decrease by up to 12%. .

On the 19th, the EU held a video-phone summit to discuss the “Reconstruction Fund” proposed by the EU's executive body, the European Commission, for a total of 750 billion euros, or about JPY 90 trillion in Japanese yen.

The proposal proposes that the European Commission will allocate €500 billion in subsidies and €250 billion in loans.

However, since there is no obligation to repay the introduction of subsidies, we welcome countries such as Italy and Spain that were seriously infected, but the Netherlands and Austria are not in a careful position.

In addition, opinions were not agreed on the distribution and standards to each country, and no conclusion was reached at this summit.

For this reason, the EU intends to hold another summit meeting in the form of a face-to-face meeting next month, but the speculation of each country is mixed and difficult discussions are likely to continue.
