1560 mosques and mosques in Makkah al-Mukarramah prepared to receive worshipers from Sunday morning prayers, after a 90-day break, due to the emerging Corona virus.

In a statement, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the region of Makkah Al-Mukarramah said that many volunteers participated in the initiative to "prepare mosques" to support the efforts of the concerned authorities to equip mosques and mosques for worshipers in the neighborhoods of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, according to the precautionary procedures and instructions set by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and the Ministry of Health.

And Islamic affairs implemented a number of precautionary measures, which consisted of developing posters of social spacing between worshipers and the lifting of the Qur’ans, within the framework of an integrated program within the preventive measures and precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

Raed bin Abdullah Samarqandi, the spokesperson for the secretariat of the Holy Capital, said that this initiative will continue for four consecutive days.

It included the precautionary measures that will be applied in the mosques of Mecca; The one-use rug, applying the spacing between each row, as well as leaving the distances between the two worshipers, along with the safety switch in each mosque, which is a key used by muezzins to open and close lamps without touching them.

The Ministry has contracted with maintenance, cleaning and operating institutions for mosques and mosques in Mecca, which in turn have performed continuous sterilization since the suspension of Friday and the group.

On May 31, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs began opening mosques and mosques in the regions and governorates of the Kingdom except the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, which decides to start receiving worshipers on Sunday.
