Russia has managed to adequately respond to the threat of the COVID-19 epidemic thanks to the consolidated efforts of society, the healthcare system, and vital sectors of the economy. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with representatives of various sectors of the economy, faced with the consequences of the spread of coronavirus infection.

“We were able to give such an answer, because to a decisive extent we could rely on our own technological and production base, on what is called their own rear,” Putin said.

According to him, the national economy and critical infrastructure have proven their ability to "quickly adapt to serious challenges, withstand heavy loads and work without failures in difficult conditions."

Speaking about measures to support citizens and business, the head of state emphasized: “We, as agreed, will continue to keep these issues under control. This is especially important now, when the economy is recovering, gradually emerging from the regime of restrictions.

At the same time, Putin stated that the situation with the coronavirus epidemic “united us all”, which “allowed us to get out of this situation with minimal losses.”

According to Putin, the Russian economy and the country as a whole have both reserves and successful models for a significant increase in efficiency in all areas. The President pointed out that the practices developed during the epidemic to quickly improve labor productivity should be used everywhere.

“Reserves for such growth are everywhere. It is important that this not only results in technological improvement, but also changes the attitude of employees towards work. The culture of production and labor is changing, which means that the competitiveness of the whole country is increasing. For our long-term development, this is extremely important, ”Putin explained.

The President urged not to forget that there are still enough problems that people face. Meanwhile, Putin expressed his conviction that Russia can overcome all these difficulties, the country is “on the right track”. “You just need to replicate good practices,” the Russian leader added.

“Once again, thank you, your colleagues and all your employees. In general, everyone who has done everything in these difficult months and weeks to continue life, continued at the proper level, I want to thank you for your hard work, for courage and dedication. Thank you all very much, ”Putin said.

According to her, at the first stage there are 53 regions, nine have reached the second stage, and six are ready for the transition to the first stage.
