Anna Lindstedt has been prosecuted for autonomy in negotiating with foreign power and for risking Sweden's peaceful relationship with China.

When the final pleadings were held today, the prosecutor stressed that she had not sufficiently informed her superiors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that she had not done a risk analysis when she arranged the meeting at Sheraton and that by doing so she was guilty of autonomy.

revenge

Prosecutor Henrik Olin also said that she was driven by revenge when she was removed from her position as ambassador to Beijing prematurely. This revenge schism must have made her arrange the fateful meeting at the Sheraton. The story of the meeting at Sheraton was also bearing in Prosecutor Henrik Olin's final pleading:

- This is a meeting of which there are two versions, Anna Lindstedt and Angela Guis. That is what I want the court to decide, he said.

Disallows the prosecution

Anna Lindstedt's lawyer, Conny Cedermark, dismissed the charge. Everything Anna Lindstedt has done has fallen within her powers as ambassador, he said.

- There is nothing to prosecute, he tells SVT after the trial.

Anna Lindstedt is the first diplomat to face prosecution in Sweden in 200 years. She said earlier in the trial that the situation is "Kafkalik" and that she has served Sweden faithfully for thirty years. They will arrive in court on July 10.
