Some research shows that there is an increased risk of giving birth in the home rather than in the hospital, but for the couple Joel and Anna Mellin from Gränna there were no doubts, they wanted to give birth at home and seven weeks ago their son Josia was born in an inflatable pool in bathroom.

- We had read a lot before that it was actually safe and secure if no risk factors existed before the actual delivery, says Joel Mellin.

When they made the decision to give birth at home, they contacted a midwife from Gothenburg, whom they had contact with during pregnancy and who was also involved during childbirth. And just having a relationship with the midwife experienced the couple as a tremendous security.
