"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning called the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq and handed him a note of protest in connection with shelling by Iranian forces of border villages in the area of Haji Umran, located in the Iraqi province of Erbil, on Tuesday, June 16," the statement said. Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Twitter.
It is noted that Iran’s actions entailed material damage, and also frightened Iraqi civilians.
Earlier media reported on a missile attack on a base in Iraq with the US military.
