An Iraqi armed faction calling itself the "Revolutionary League" claimed responsibility for bombing American targets in the country, including the Taji military base and the Baghdad airport, while Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi vowed to hold accountable those behind the bombing.

The platoon posted a video via a telegram showing its targeting of a US plane at Al-Taji military base, north of the capital.

Earlier this month, US forces announced that the plane had slipped off the runway and crashed into a wall as it landed at the Taji base, causing a small fire and damage to its structure.

Yesterday, Wednesday, four Katyusha rockets landed in the Green Zone, which includes the American embassy and other missions in the capital, without any losses, at a time when security forces found a launching platform near Al-Rashid camp south of Baghdad, according to a statement of the Security Media Cell.

The Green Zone - which also includes government offices - has been repeatedly attacked by rockets, usually with only minor damage.

Al-Kazemi vowed, and in
response, the prime minister vowed to hold accountable those who targeted the Green Zone on Wednesday evening, and considered that it seeks to threaten the stability and future of Iraq.

"I will not allow outlaws to kidnap Iraq in order to create chaos and find pretexts to perpetuate its interests," Al-Kazimi added in a tweet on his Twitter account, stressing that this matter does not compromise.

The missiles that targeted (the unknown soldier) in Baghdad seek to threaten our stability and our future, which is not easy.

I will not allow outlaws to kidnap Iraq in order to cause chaos and find pretexts to perpetuate its interests.

We continue in our era to protect our people and uphold the dignity of the homeland and the citizen.
