June 18, 2020 The Chinese couple who was the first case of contagion in Italy, hospitalized and treated at the Imi Spallanzani in Rome and discharged from the facility in mid-March, donated 40 thousand dollars to the Inmi to contribute to the research on coronavirus.

The couple returned to China, but decided to "thank" the doctors and researchers from Spallanzani with this donation, who saved the lives of the two spouses hospitalized for many days in intensive care.

The Chinese couple had remained in the Institute for almost two months. "You saved our lives. We love Spallanzani, we love Italy," they said when they were discharged, after 49 days of hospitalization, the first known cases of Coronavirus in Italy. Clinically healed, they had been prescribed a rehab period, especially for his wife.
