Spotify announced Thursday the arrival of DC Comics superheroes - Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman - for episodes broadcast on its podcast platform.

The Swedish giant has also signed a contract with reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, who has become a criminal case maker, for a podcast specializing in criminal cases.

The contract with WarnerMedia, owner of DC Comics, runs for several years and relates to "podcasts of original narrated scripts" which will explore "new episodes based on the vast universe of historical and emblematic characters of DC", explained the two companies in a press release.

They did not specify which characters would be played or the amount of the contract which includes "new comedy and drama podcasts" based on the Warner Bros. film catalog.

Spotify has also confirmed to AFP the arrival of Kim Kardashian on its platform for a podcast which should discuss the Kevin Keith case, convicted in 1994 for a triple murder of which he claims to be innocent. His death sentence was commuted to life in prison in 2010.

The American star militates for a reform of the American criminal justice, and against the mass incarceration which target in particular the black population. She completed an internship with a law firm and plans to take the California Bar exam in 2022.

In 2018, she obtained a lenient gesture from President Donald Trump, who pardoned a 63-year-old woman sentenced to life imprisonment for drug trafficking.

In just 16 months, Spotify has positioned itself as the world's leading player by investing more than $ 600 million, mainly in content publishers.

At the end of May, the platform acquired the exclusivity of the first American podcast, the "Joe Rogan Experience", which claims 190 million downloads per month.
