Yesterday, Palestinian Minister of Health, May Alkila, announced in a statement that a second wave of the "Covid-19" pandemic had entered the Palestinian territories, after a steady rise in the number of injuries among Palestinians during the past 24 hours. While the Saudi authorities shut down 131 facilities that did not comply with health requirements in Medina, Kuwait announced the recovery of 616 cases of the emerging Coronavirus virus.
In detail, the Palestinian Minister of Health, Mai Alkila, said that 24 new infections were recorded yesterday, with the new Corona virus.
West Bank cities recorded, from the day before yesterday until yesterday noon, 62 new infections, the highest rate of infection recorded in one day since the discovery of the first cases of the virus, last March.
Most of the injuries recorded during the past two days were concentrated in the city of Hebron, in the south of the occupied West Bank.
This brings the number of injuries in the West Bank, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 507, including two deaths, while 72 injuries and one death have been recorded in the Gaza Strip.
The minister said that the second wave is "more dangerous than the first wave because of the discovery of many epidemics of unknown source, in addition to the infection of medical and health cadres with the virus."
She added: "We stress again the importance and necessity of all citizens to adhere to safety and prevention measures."
The Palestinian Ministry of Health conducts 5,000 exams daily, in five government laboratories in the West Bank, according to the minister.
Alkila said that "preparations are under way to open two new laboratories in the cities of Tulkarm and Jericho."
She added, "There are recommendations to close the affected areas and communities, restrict movement in them, and recommend that violations be imposed on non-compliant citizens, whether from citizens, shops, institutions, and others."
The authorities announced the closure of the Nablus Specialized Hospital and the staff and staff quarantine, after they had previously announced the closure of several departments in the Hebron Governmental Hospital temporarily, in order to sterilize them after being visited by a person infected with the virus.
The Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, last Monday, carried out a field tour in the markets of Ramallah, the headquarters of the Palestinian leadership, accompanied by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shtayyeh, as he urged the Palestinians to adhere to the safety conditions for combating the new Corona virus.
In Saudi Arabia, the authorities announced yesterday that 131 facilities in Madinah were closed and fined, which did not comply with health requirements and social separation.
The Madinah Municipality in a press statement said, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), that its supervisory teams and their sub-municipalities closed, yesterday, 13 commercial establishments, and warned and fined 118 establishments that did not comply with health requirements, and measures related to social separation between clients .
She noted that its sub-municipalities and suburbs are working to implement precautionary measures and measures to counter the spread of the new Corona virus, by intensifying daily tours of markets, shops and commercial centers. For its part, Kuwait announced yesterday that 616 cases of Covid-19 disease had recovered during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cures to the disease to 29,512.
In a statement broadcast by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health said that it was confirmed that these cases were recovering after conducting the necessary medical examinations.
Yesterday, the Omani Ministry of Health announced that 739 new cases of Covid-19 disease were registered, bringing the total number of cases registered in the Sultanate of Oman to 26,818, 119 deaths, and 13,264 cases of cure. In Rabat, the Moroccan Ministry of Health announced yesterday that it had registered 45 new cases of the Corona virus, taking the total number of cases in the country to 9042 cases.
