Two specialists have identified three reasons for the decline in juvenile cases, during the past five months, which were the inclusion of the family for the event, permanent parental control, and the prevention of leaving the homes during the period of the national sterilization program, noting that the main sources of making the juvenile a criminal and his perpetration of aggressive behaviors are the family School and social media.

Social worker in the field of juvenile care, Noura Abdullah, said that the precautionary measures applied by the state during the current period were a positive result on the relationship within families by strengthening and improving them.

She pointed out that the percentage of juvenile crime has decreased significantly, and is almost non-existent, due to the fact that families contain juveniles. They are getting younger.

She emphasized that complaints of school bullying were lost due to the high supervision of parents during the school day, during the implementation of distance education for students.

Abdullah noted that the presence of permanent parental control or for long periods is longer than it was previously due to the implementation of remote work, and the prevention of leaving the homes except for the most urgent necessity, encouraged the strengthening of the relationship between parents and children.

She affirmed that the proximity of the parents to the children fulfilled their affection that they were searching for in the streets and outside the house, in addition to the high monitoring, after he was neglected before this period because the head of the family was busy with his work for long times that he could hardly see for months or several weeks.

She pointed out that the period of national sterilization in which citizens and residents were not allowed to leave in the evening periods prevented the juveniles from going out with bad companions who are old and encourage them to take harmful substances, or to perform acts that violate public morals, and thus sit in homes in front of high control and protect them from these Bad practices.

She stated that over the past years, local authorities have tried to persuade families whose children have been placed in a juvenile care home to be closer to them, they are victims of neglect and bad companions, but the response was not satisfactory.

For his part, Professor of Criminology at the University of Sharjah, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amoush, said, "The main sources of criminalizing the juvenile, and committing him to commit aggressive behaviors are the family, the school, and social media."

He explained that the weakness of the parental management results in a low self-esteem among the children, which leads them to search for a source of safety, as they believe, such as joining bad companions, most of whom are older than them, until they obtain protection from any violence they may be exposed to from school or neighborhood colleagues. Residential, and with time they acquire aggressive behavior of the group to which they belong.

He added: “The absence of parental control and what is published through social media clips, pictures and stories of violence contributed to creating aggressive behavior among adolescents who have succeeded in aggression, with the aim of proving themselves, as a result of their failure to study, and the loss of interest from their families, such as school or social bullying based on The principle of (the rule of the strong over the weak). In most cases, bullies engage in violence of all kinds, whether verbal, physical, or psychological, against those who are weaker than them, ”stressing the seriousness of violent behavior in the home and its impact on the young.

100% decline in communications

The concerned authorities revealed a decline in the reports of events by 100% during the past five months, specifically after the state took precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the new Corona virus, which included restricting movement for certain periods during the day, as the juvenile centers in the eastern region did not receive any event during this period .
