Over the past day in 83 regions of Russia, 7,790 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. According to the headquarters, 31.5% of patients did not have clinical manifestations of coronavirus infection.

In the preceding two days, a new type of coronavirus was confirmed in 7843 and 8248 people. In total, 561,091 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Russia.

Since the beginning of the epidemic in Russia, 313,963 people have recovered (almost 56%), including 9621 over the past 24 hours. 7660 patients (1.37%) died from complications that developed with coronavirus infection and concomitant diseases. During the day, 182 people died.

Moscow remains the leader in the number of cases detected in Russia, but this indicator is gradually decreasing. Over the past 24 hours, 1040 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the city (1065 and 1416 in the previous two days).

Other regions where the greatest number of new cases were detected per day included Moscow Region (667), Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (243), Nizhny Novgorod (233) and Sverdlovsk Regions (231), as well as St. Petersburg (231).

According to Rospotrebnadzor, almost 16 million tests for coronavirus were carried out in the country (311 thousand per day). About 310 thousand people remain under medical supervision in Russia.

According to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the country is experiencing a steady decline in the growth rate of the incidence of COVID-19. During a government meeting, he stated that in recent days this figure has averaged 1.4%.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that such a tendency is recorded in almost all subjects of the Federation, in connection with which a phased exit of the regions from the previously introduced restriction regime becomes possible. Mishustin said that 53 subjects have already moved to the first stage of easing restrictions, and eight to the second.

“It is important to note that this process is ongoing. We see that concessions do not increase the number of new cases, ”Mishustin emphasized.

The day before, the chief sanitary doctor of Russia, Anna Popova, expressed hope that within a month it would be possible to significantly reduce the number of new cases in the country.

“I would like the number of cases per day to be generally zero. This is the indicator we are striving for. But I hope that we will need another month to reach a certain lowest level, ”she said on the air of the Russia 1 television channel.

At the same time, the head of Rospotrebnadzor said that in ten Russian regions there has not yet been a serious decrease in the number of daily detected cases of COVID-19.

“We see the dynamics in almost all subjects, a little more than ten subjects remain that do not yet show such a serious dynamic decline as everyone else,” she said.

She added that since the start of the epidemic in the country, approximately 50% of active carriers of coronavirus infection have had no symptoms of the disease. According to her, this is a good indicator talking about the active detection of COVID-19.

Among other things, Popova shared her vision of the situation regarding the resumption of classes in schools from September 1: “We have already prepared special recommendations on how to organize the educational process in schools, because, of course, you need to learn, you cannot cancel.” In her opinion, the situation is currently manageable.

“There is a fairly high share of confidence today that, yes, in early September our wonderful students will return to their desks and will fully enjoy the educational process,” the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare said.

Popova also noted that in the next two weeks, vaccines against coronavirus ready for clinical trials will appear in the Vector scientific center.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, an experimental vaccine against coronavirus was introduced to the first 18 volunteers in the Burdenko hospital. It is noted that they have no adverse reactions or complications.

We add that the head of Roszdravnadzor Alla Samoilova said that during the epidemic of a new type of coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation, nearly 500 medical workers died. She emphasized that the COVID-19 epidemic has not yet ended.

“More than half a million people in Russia who are really sick, unfortunately, more than 7.5 thousand people have died today, 489 are medical workers. That is, we unfortunately lost nearly 500 people of our colleagues with you, ”TASS quoted Samoilova.
