“The NQF initiative provides for monthly compensation for single mothers and single fathers, which will be paid only until the end of this year ... I’m sure that single parents need to be supported until the majority of children, and not only until the end of 2020,” she said.

The lawmaker also recalled that earlier representatives of the LDPR faction in the State Duma had already raised a similar question when they introduced a draft federal law aimed at establishing state social assistance to citizens who raise children in single-parent families.

“The adoption of the LDPR bill could contribute to the implementation of the provisions enshrined in part 1 of article 38 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which obliges the state to protect the family, motherhood and childhood, ”said Strokova.

Earlier, the chairman of the NRC Irina Volynets came up with an initiative to introduce a temporary additional allowance for single mothers, as well as fathers who alone raise children.
