Three years ago, Ali, 23, died after being detained for almost three weeks on suspicion of robbery, which SVT has reported. The detention officer at the detention center was acquitted of causing another person's death and malpractice in the district court. But the verdict was appealed - and now the court's verdict has fallen.

According to the court's ruling, it has been the detention chief's responsibility to ensure that Ali is examined by medical personnel.

According to the High Court, the detention officer was guilty of misconduct when he was aware of the poor condition both Ali himself and the cell he found himself in, but not yet called for medical care.

The detention officer is therefore now sentenced to 60 daily fines of SEK 490.
