Proposed Public Prosecutor's Office Amendment Proceeding to the abandonment without proceeding to the ongoing deliberation procedure June 17, 14:52

The bill that raises the retirement age of national civil servants, including prosecutors, which was postponed in the current Diet, is expected to be abolished because the board of the House of Representatives Cabinet Committee decided not to proceed with the proceedings. . The government intends to submit the bill again at the next Diet session and aim to pass it.

Regarding the proposed revision of the Public Prosecutor's Office Law, it is difficult for the government and the ruling party to proceed with deliberation of the Diet without the public's understanding, and together with the bill to raise the retirement age of national civil servants to 65 years old I decided to send it off.

At the end of the session, on the 17th of the session, the board of the House of Representatives Cabinet Committee, where the bill was being deliberated, was held, and as a result of discussions on future treatment by the ruling and opposition parties, it was decided not to carry out the procedure for continuous deliberation.

For this reason, the bill is expected to be abolished because the proceedings for further deliberation will not be carried out at the plenary session held thereafter.

The government and the ruling party are planning to submit the bill to the extraordinary Diet session that is expected in the fall and aim for the enactment, but considering that the opposition side has called for the withdrawal of the provision that allows the prosecutor to retire, I'll decide to review the contents.
