He is one of hundreds of Norwegian pensioners around 2010 settled in Sweden in the belief if he only needed to tax for his pension in Norway. They received this information when they contacted the Swedish Tax Agency. After a few years, however, the shock message came that they would certainly pay tax.

For Jörn Weckhorst and many others it meant great unexpected costs and for some it has ended with personal bankruptcy.

Solna district court: Failure of the Swedish Tax Agency - but no damages

The case has been litigated for many years and the Swedish Tax Agency, which has always claimed that they have done no wrong, has won in all instances. But, today's judgment gives Jörn Weckhorst the right thing to do.

Solna district court writes in the judgment that it is considered unjustified that the taxpayer at the Swedish Tax Agency incorrectly provided information about the pension's taxation, however, the requirement for special reasons for Jörn not having the right damages is not met. For that he needed a written message.
