June 17, 2020Kristen Stewart, an actress who has achieved global fame thanks to the "Twilight" saga, and a beloved performer also in auteur cinema, will be Princess Diana in the new drama of the Chilean director Pablo Larraín, entitled "Spencer". Hollywood Reporter writes it .

The film, which is slated to begin shooting in 2021, is written by Steven Knight. The story will focus on a celebration of the Christmas holidays in the Sandringham residence with the royal family. The princess will find herself deciding whether the time has come to end her marriage to Prince Charles.

The director (who had previously dedicated a film to an iconic female figure, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis, with "Jackie") will also be co-producer of "Spencer" together with his brother Juan de Dios Larraín and Jonas Dornbach, Janine Jackowski and Paul Webster. The project will be officially presented at the Cannes Virtual market, where international distribution rights will be sold.
