Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying announced:

  President Xi Jinping will host the China-Africa Solidarity Anti-epidemic Special Summit in Beijing on June 17 and deliver a keynote speech.

  The special summit is jointly initiated by China and the African Union’s rotating presidency, South Africa, and China-Africa Cooperation Forum’s co-chairman, Senegal, and will be held by video. Leaders of African countries such as the member states of the African Union Summit Bureau, the rotating presidency of important subregional organizations in Africa, and the chairman of the African Union Commission will be invited to attend. The Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Director-General of the World Health Organization participated as special guests.
