Soon it is ready for the nude baths in Fjällnora. Uppsala Municipality has in its swimming plan decided to try to find a new bathing place for naturist baths.

- Families with children do not feel welcome where adults go naked. It is not a generally accepted environment at present, says Rickard Malmström (MP), municipal council and chairman of the Street and Society Environment Committee.

The decision is not appreciated by the nude bathers in Fjällnora.

- It's great to swim without swimwear, you feel free. But now they are going to take the bath away from us and it is very upsetting, says Mia Sandberg, who has been a nude bather for two years.

The municipality backs - but the plan of origin remains

The plans were to close already this summer because of the corona pandemic, but that decision has been reversed by the municipality, says Rickard Malmström (MP). However, the decision that the nude bathers must move eventually is already made. The reason is that Uppsala is growing and creating a higher pressure on Uppsala's bathing places.

- We will try to find a replacement site, but we will probably not be able to offer the same exclusivity in the future, says Rickard Malmström (MP)

- We also think that minorities have the right to exist in a just and democratic society, says Olle Strand, chairman of the Naturist Association Badstugan.
