It is the most dangerous cocktail for the Covid-19: several dozen people in a bar, who speak loudly inside, without social distancing and without mask. Sixteen friends from Florida who came to celebrate Jackson's deconfinement at a pub in Jacksonville Beach in early June were tested positive for coronavirus, as were seven employees, reports local channel News4Jax. After closing three days to be disinfected, Lynch's Irish Pub reopened on Tuesday. Two other seafront bars have also temporarily closed as a precaution.

"I feel stupid. We were not careful, we went to a public place and we shouldn't have. We weren't wearing a mask, ”says Erika Crisp, a 40-year-old Floridian who nevertheless works in the health sector. She regrets her decision: “We should wear masks and respect social distancing. It was too early to reopen everything. "

New cases tripled in Florida

Jacksonville health officials said they are monitoring this potential new cluster. In Florida, since the deconfinement at the end of May, the number of new cases of coronavirus has tripled, from 600 to 1,800.

The United States is struggling to descend from the plateau of 20,000 new cases / 800-1,000 daily deaths. In some states like Florida, infections seem to have started going up again for the past few days # COVID19 pic.twitter.com/2C8fDXkdmC

The doubling of the number of daily tests largely explains these figures, but not completely. At the same time, hospitalizations and deaths have remained stable but it takes between two and three weeks, on average, between an infection and a hospitalization, and more for a death. While the curves for new cases are starting to rise again in 21 American states, the next two weeks promise to be crucial.
