During the night until Saturday, police were alerted in a residential area east of Uppsala. One person had broken into a residential building and well inside had tried to light on. How the offender planned the fire is not known, but he failed to get a fire.

A person who came to the site was then beaten.

At 3am, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, mischief and assault.

"He was arrested with the help of dog tracking," said prosecutor Annika Bokefors, who leads the investigation.

Witnesses should be heard

The man was arrested after questioning and arrested on Monday afternoon. He refuses a crime.

- We have several witnesses to hear, so I don't want to say more. I don't want to ruin the investigation, she says.

According to SVT Uppsala, the suspect has previously been at the scene and the police have a theory of what may be behind it all.

- There is nothing I can comment on, says Annika Bokefors.

SVT is looking for the man's lawyer.
