“The government expresses its deep regret over the unilateral explosion by the North Korean side of the building of the joint inter-Korean communications office constructed in accordance with the 2018 Pan-Moojom Declaration,” RIA Novosti quoted Kim Yu Geun as First Deputy Head of the National Security Department of South Korea.

He noted that "this action nullified all expectations regarding the development of inter-Korean relations and the establishment of peace on the Korean peninsula."

According to him, in case "if the North Korean side takes measures to further worsen the situation, this will be followed by a strong reaction."

On June 9, the DPRK decided to suspend communications with South Korea, saying that Pyongyang has nothing more to discuss with Seoul at the negotiating table. June 16, it became known that North Korea blew up the inter-Korean communications office in the city of Kaesong.

The Kremlin commented on the situation on the Korean peninsula.
