(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) French medical staff held demonstrations in many places

China News Agency, Paris, June 16 (Reporter Li Yang) French medical staff held demonstrations in multiple cities on the 16th local time, demanding that more resources be allocated to the medical system, and tens of thousands of people participated.

The demonstrations by medical staff in Paris are the largest in the whole law. A reporter from China News Agency saw at the scene that a large number of medical staff had already gathered near the French Ministry of Health in the center of Paris that afternoon. They held various placards, such as "health cannot be bargained", "medical staff expressed anger" and so on.

Many medical staffs dressed in work clothes participated in the demonstrations, which were particularly eye-catching in the ranks. There were also some demonstrators who opposed racial discrimination and "yellow vest" demonstrators joined the team. The police said there were also some violent elements mixed in the demonstrations. A large number of police forces are guarding all intersections wherever demonstrations pass.

The reporter noticed that the marching route of the demonstration march that day started from the French Ministry of Health and ended at the Veterans Army. The whole journey is only 1.2 kilometers. It is likely that the prevention and control of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic and the control of the march distance are considered. At the same time, this demonstration held by medical staff in Paris has been approved by the police and is therefore legal.

After the demonstrators arrived at the Invalides, some demonstrators tried to break through the police blockade, cross the Alexandre III Bridge, and went to the National Assembly to protest. They were immediately stopped by the police. Most of the medical staff participating in the demonstration dispersed peacefully. The few demonstrators who remained at the scene were dispersed by the police using tear gas.

According to the data released by the French police that night, 18,000 people in Paris participated in the parade of medical staff and 36 people were arrested; among other major French cities, 6,000 people in Lyon, 5500 people in Nantes, 4,000 people in Bordeaux, and 3600 in Marseille People involved.

French officials started consultations on the reform of the medical system at the end of May, and Prime Minister Philip pledged to increase the salary of medical staff. Hundreds of representatives of the medical system and trade unions participated in the consultations, which will be completed in mid-July. However, some French media revealed that so far, the consultations have not made substantial progress.

Various industry associations and trade union organizations representing medical personnel expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of results of the consultation. The trade union believes that medical personnel have always been at the forefront of the fight against the epidemic, and officials need to immediately raise the salary of medical personnel and improve working conditions.

French Minister of Health Vilan is still optimistic about the prospects of the consultations, and once again promised that the salary increase will be realized soon; he also said that from now to early July, medical staff "will get all the answers to all the reasonable questions they have raised." The French official promised last week to provide a special bonus of 1,000 to 1,500 euros to nursing home employees and increase the hospital’s overtime wages by 50%. The relevant salary plan is to be paid before September.

The French New Coronary Pneumonia epidemic is severe, and the medical system is under great pressure. Before the outbreak, medical staff had started a strike to protest working conditions and remuneration. During the epidemic, medical personnel also expressed their dissatisfaction. (Finish)
