TJ Parker has been appointed new coach of Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne to replace Montenegrin Zvezdan Mitrovic, dismissed at the end of May, we learned Monday from a source close to the club whose owner-president is his brother, Tony Parker, confirming information from the L'Equipe website.

Parker, who signed for three years, will be seconded in his mission by Frédéric Fauthoux (47), who has also signed up for three years, after leaving in May the team of Levallois Metropolitans which he has led since 2015.

Trained at Northwestern University, Terence Jonathan Parker (36), former player of Paris Basket Racing (2005-2007), Nancy (2007-2009), Villeurbanne (2009-2010) then Orchies (2010) returned to the Asvel eight years ago to be in management.

Parker has already occupied the position of coach N.1 for several interim, notably ending the 2017-2018 season after the dismissal of the Franco-Canadian JD Jackson with whom he was assistant between 2014 and 2018 and before the arrival of Mitrovic on le banc villeurbannais in summer 2018.

For his part, Fauthoux followed a playing career as a leader at the Elan béarnais Pau-Orthez between 1990 and 2007 and has 47 selections for the French team between 1997 and 2005.
