Nadège Stanisiere (42) admires the determination of her head of the list, Yannick Moretton, who was ranked second in the first round of the municipal elections in March in Etrembières, with 31.3% of the vote. This town of about 2,500 inhabitants, located south of Annemasse, has become a curiosity with the presence of the youngest Haut-Savoy candidate.
"It's true that I don't have the life of a young person," smiles Yannick Moretton. When I see that my friends party very often, I personally put a cross on it and I build my life differently. »Namely, juggling for a year between a part-time job in a Collonges-sous-Salève nursing home and“ the dream ”of conquering your town forever.

"I had no network but lots of utopias"
Yannick Moretton believes that his political commitment was born in "the harassment suffered" in college. "This difficult period forged me a personality and incited me to rise up against injustices", summarizes the man who lives with his parents in Etrembières. Two weeks after obtaining a professional baccalaureate in service and personal assistance, he embarked on this amazing project in July 2019.
“I did not know how to go about it, I did not come out of Sciences Po and I did not have the slightest network. But I was full of utopias and I decided not to go on vacation that summer to write a letter to each Etrembières home to present my candidacy. »A spontaneous approach that earned him initially only two responses from intrigued retirees. "Initially, no other candidate thought that I could build a list one day, I was seen as the fun of service," says Yannick Moretton, who then attended several municipal councils to better understand the issues of this small town.
"It was not easy for a young person like me to convince locals"
A meeting with four supporters in September is the first step on its unlabeled list, Etrembières Avenir. Little by little, he chained meetings to set up his project: “It looked like job interviews and it was not easy for a young person like me to convince residents to join me. He still managed to reach the fateful number of 18 members, including only two people under the age of 26.
"We merged youth and experience to bring a new vision, without the slightest person from the old town hall," he says. I know that there are young mayors in France but they did not have to face two other lists, and this in a town as populous as Etrembières. "
"I live this campaign like a presidential campaign"
Among his strong proposals, Yannick Moretton wants the establishment of a municipal youth council, administrative assistance services, a medical office for teleconsultation, and the construction of a first gymnasium in order to "energize the municipality in activities, associations and sports ”. Very present on Facebook, the young candidate does not hesitate to film himself to complain in particular about the campaign climate between in-between towers in Etrembières.
“Some people are completely coasting and trying to destabilize us. For me, this is a great electoral campaign, I live it as a presidential campaign. It is my dream to be mayor here and to help the locals. There has never been a third list or such a young candidate for Etrembières so whatever happens on June 28, we will have marked the history of this town forever. Yannick Moretton will then have plenty of time to consider devoting himself to other issues. “I want to dedicate my life to local politics before aspiring to do it at the national level. I want to revolutionize the world of politics by creating a party myself one day. "
