Idre Fjäll is run as a foundation and was founded in 1965 by the Outdoor Promotion and the Municipality of Älvdalen. As a result of the corona pandemic
, the plant closed early this  year - and to ensure that Idre Fjäll survives, the foundation wants to borrow money with the municipality going into the bail.

Idre Fjäll has already received SEK 75 million in loans, but wants better loan terms and therefore the municipality wants the guarantee for the foundation for a loan of another 50 million.

- Idre mountain has been the economic engine in Älvdalen municipality for over 50 years. During this time we live with the guaranty commitment, we hope to see how important Idre mountain is to the entire municipality, says Tommy Halvarsson, Marketing Manager at Idre Mountain.

Decisions on Monday

The decision on the municipal bail is expected to go through both the municipal council and the city council during Monday. It has faced criticism from the opposition who think it is about too much money and that there are also other companies in the municipality that may need support. More about the criticism can be found here.
