- Recently, like many others, we have had a strained situation with few travelers on the trains as a result of the Corona virus, which together with the authorities' recommendation for a limited travel means that we have had to reduce the number of departures. This has also meant that we have been able to secure staffing on the tours that go, says Christer Berglund.

Since April 20 this year, Norrtåg has had a custom timetable with smaller tours. In addition to Corona and the authorities' recommendations on restricted travel, planned course work is also behind the adapted timetable.

Should contact tourist companies to adapt the business

Norrtåg also plans other measures to reduce the risk of congestion on the trains when the traffic returns to normal summer time schedule. Among other things, you will contact tourist companies with an appeal to adapt their business so that all visitors do not come and leave on the same day.

Norrtåg will also invite guests to book their train journey with a little anticipation so that any replacement traffic can be planned in good time.

“However, we want to remind our travelers to plan their trip and to avoid traveling at rush hour as much as possible. For those planning to receive visitors this summer already, we hope we can help spread the travel on all departures. We have a shared responsibility that we can all feel safe when we travel, says Christer Berglund.

Norrtåg has previously worked with extended cleaning on all its trains, tried to spread travelers aboard with the help of their train hosts and increased the number of replacement buses. As a traveler, you should also be able to turn to Norrtåg's customer service for help choosing departures with less risk of congestion.
