Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the annexation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank may take place in several stages, and it was reported that the Jordanian King Abdullah II refused to talk to him, as Hamas called for resistance, and Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh renewed his country's rejection of Israel’s plans to annex settlements. .

Netanyahu said while receiving a delegation from the Israeli security men’s movement today that the annexation may take place in phases, not in one go, and the 13th Israeli channel said that Netanyahu told members of the delegation that the American administration wants any annexation process to take place in an agreement within the Israeli government with Benny Gantz, Defense Minister and leader of the party Blue and white, and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, so the annexation process may take place in stages.

The channel added that Netanyahu informed his visitors that he wanted to annex 30% of the West Bank, including the Jordan Valley, but acknowledged that he was unable to reach an agreement on this with Gantz and Ashkenazi, his partners in the government coalition, and that the form and timing of the annexation process depends on the negotiations that are taking place. Currently within the government.

Netanyahu had previously announced that his government would begin annexing the Jordan Valley and all Israeli settlements in the West Bank, starting from July 1.

The annexation is a historic opportunity,
and the security forces movement includes former members of the Israeli military who support the annexation of Palestinian lands in the West Bank.

Netanyahu's office said in a statement that the movement's members came to express their support for it, and they said that the American recognition of the imposition of Israeli sovereignty on the lands of "Judea and Samaria" - meaning the West Bank - carries with it very great importance, and that this step constitutes a historic opportunity.

One of the movement’s leaders, Yitzhak Gershon, said that the decision on what will happen in the lands between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean is one of the most important and most dramatic decisions that the Zionist movement will make in this generation.

In a related context, the US ambassador to Israel David Friedman returned today to meet with Netanyahu, Gantz and Ashkenazi, to complete two similar meetings held on Sunday and last week, in an attempt to bridge the points of view between Israeli leaders.

He refused to talk to Netanyahu
On the other hand, the Palestinian agency "Ma'an" reported that the Jordanian king refused to talk to Netanyahu by phone, and did not specify a date for a meeting between Benny Gantz, who requested a meeting with him, to discuss the plan of US President Donald Trump.

Ma'an quoted a Jordanian official - whom it did not name - as saying that this matter comes in light of the crisis that is afflicting Jordanian-Israeli relations because of the unilateral annexation plan that Netanyahu intends to take.

The official added that Jordan informed the Israeli officials that it would not accept any unilateral or forced annexation, and that any annexation is a violation of international laws and an occupation of Palestinian land.

Call for uprising and resistance
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the Palestinians "to rise up" against Israel in response to the annexation plan, stressing the "resistance" in all its forms and prohibiting coordination and security cooperation with the occupation.

Hamas leader Salah Al-Bardawil said - during a press conference held in Gaza - that the national duty of every Palestinian national freedom requires a rise in the face of this blatant aggression on "our lands and our sanctities."

He called for confronting the annexation plan with resistance in all its forms, and forbidding security coordination and cooperation with the occupation, and he also called on the Palestinian Authority to withdraw recognition of the occupation and its dissolution from the Oslo agreement and its repercussions.

Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh reiterated his country's rejection of Israel's plans to annex settlements or impose sovereignty over them, stressing at the beginning of the government session that the issue of annexation constitutes an existential threat to the Palestinian national project, and everyone must confront it.

Security Council session
On a related level, the Arab group at the United Nations in New York announced on Monday that the Security Council will hold a session at the level of foreign ministers of member states on June 24 regarding Israeli plans to annex occupied Palestinian lands.

The group clarified that it submitted a formal request to the President of the Security Council this month, French Ambassador Nicolas de Riviere in this regard, provided that the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, participate in the briefing on the catastrophic effects of this step if it is implemented .

The group confirmed in a statement that the last two weeks witnessed intensive meetings held by representatives of the group with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council, President of the General Assembly, Tijani Muhammad, and the Quartet ambassadors (the United States, Russia, the European Union, and the United Nations) regarding the implications of the Israeli move.

The statement stated that the message of the Arab delegation in those meetings was clear and consistent regarding the rejection of the Israeli settlement and annexation policies, warning that these policies would eliminate the two-state solution on the pre-1967 borders, and would only lead to more conflict and suffering and the destruction of peace and security opportunities in the entire region. .

In response to the Israeli move, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had announced that he was in a solution of all agreements and understandings with the American and Israeli governments, and of all the obligations that they entail, including security.
