Tanker explosion kills 19 in China - 20 Minutes
Impressive images. On-board cameras or video surveillance recorded the spectacular explosion of a tanker truck on a highway in Zhejiang province, in eastern China. At least 19 people died and more than 170 were injured in the incident.
The vehicle was carrying liquid gas, which could explain the power of the explosion and the heavy human and material toll.
A ball of fire rising to the sky
On the videos you can see a ball of fire rising to the sky and huge debris raised in the air before falling around. Many buildings have been affected. Buildings and factories have even collapsed. According to the news agency Chine Nouvelle, a second explosion occurred when the truck fell on a workshop.
