“Two employees of the Czech Embassy in Moscow have been declared persona non grata. They are ordered, together with family members, to leave the territory of the Russian Federation by the end of the day on June 17, ”the statement said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the line to aggravate relations with Russia "has now been elevated to the rank of state policy" in the Czech Republic.

“We will take into account such a development of events in the general context of our relations with the Czech Republic,” the Foreign Ministry added.

On June 5, Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babish announced that two employees of the Russian embassy were declared persona non grata.

According to him, this decision is connected with the story of the alleged transportation of the poisonous substance ricin to the Czech Republic.

Later, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow would take mirror measures against the Czech Republic because of this situation.
