London: He exfiltrates a white man from a demonstration and saves his life - 20 Minutes

His heroic gesture was immortalized in a photo that toured social networks this weekend. On the photo, we can see a black man carrying on his shoulder a white man who seems to be injured, among a crowd of demonstrators and police.

The photo was taken this Saturday June 13 in London, not far from the Royal Festival Hall and the Waterloo Bridge, on the sidelines of a demonstration against racism following the death of George Floyd in the United States.

There was a man on the ground and it was going to end badly for him

Interviewed by Reuters, Patrick Hutchinson recounts how he ended up exfiltrating and, probably, saving the life of a man taken to task during clashes between demonstrators linked to the far right and others of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Protesters linked to the far right claim to have mobilized in the capital to "protect" monuments from acts of vandalism by anti-racism activists. The statue of ex-Prime Minister Winston Churchill was notably degraded last weekend.
