The machine hall is located in an industrial area with buildings and vehicles all around.
- It is a 250 meter long building and the fire started in the middle of it. We attack the fire from two directions, north and south, and try to keep two boundary lines. Right now, I can't say that we will be able to hold both, says Sten Andersson at Storholmholm's fire defense at 01.
There should be no risk of spreading to other buildings, but it is not yet known exactly what is inside the entire large building. Therefore, the emergency services can only work with extinguishing from the outside.
"There are cars and oil stores, so we cannot go in for safety," said Niklas Nordenskär, head of the rescue department on Sunday evening.
Extinguishing work during the nightA dark pillar of smoke from the fire was visible from afar during the evening. However, there is currently no risk to the public, according to Storstockholm's fire defense.
One person has been taken to hospital for control. How the fire has started is not yet known.
"It must be a police question," says Jonas Fröjmark at the Stockholm Rescue Center.
Extinguishing work is expected to continue for most of the night.
