15 June 2020From today, the internal borders of the European Union are almost completely open again with the dismantling of the blocks at the borders imposed for the coronavirus-related health emergency.

Not all, however, have already lifted the restrictions on movement: the ok was given among others by Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece and the Czech Republic.

Germany has already reopened to travel from 27 European countries, including Italy, but excluding Spain, Finland and Norway. In fact, the alert is replaced by warnings for the various countries.

Today's reopening was decided on the European Commission recommendation of 15 June in Brussels.

Some countries, such as Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia and Slovenia have already started in recent days to lift the restrictions for foreigners entering their countries.

Austria, which had already opened to most neighbors, will lift restrictions for 31 other countries tomorrow including Italy. Spain, which had announced its intention to reopen its borders on 1 July, yesterday announced its reopening on 21 June, excluding Portugal.

Italy returns to hope in tourism. 25 Italian airports are operational from today; flights to Fiumicino and Malpensa increase.
