With the "Black Lives Matter" movement, India questions its discrimination

India is no exception to the "Black Lives Matter". But while the second world population has very few citizens of African origin, the movement takes very different, even antagonistic, forms.

Muslims, "untouchables", Hindus ... Who are the real victims of discrimination in India? This question has divided society for a week, in line with the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

Hinduism may be the majority, the hashtag #Hindulivesmatter and #HinduUnitedAgainstTerror make the front page on Twitter. A mobilization that follows the terrorist assassination of a Hindu village chief in Kashmir on June 8, to which Hindus from around the world pay homage this Sunday, June 14.

" Muslim " and " Dalit Lives Matter  "

Conversely, discriminatory laws and lynchings against Muslims in India are also denounced under the banner "Muslim Lives Matter" (Muslim lives matter). On June 8, a doctor from Rajasthan said he would no longer treat them, causing outrage from the community. During the demonstrations that shook the country,  a Muslim district of Delhi had even been literally devastated.

Others believe that the real vector of discrimination in India is the caste system. On June 6, an "untouchable" teenager was shot dead for entering a temple. In addition to occupying the most degrading jobs, the "untouchables" are victims of daily brutality in total ignorance, say the supporters of "Dalit Lives Matter" ("untouchable" lives count).
