Their agility and speed allowed them to fall between the cracks for more than two years. Three teenagers aged 16 and 17 were arrested by gendarmes last week in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, near Lyon, after a long investigation into a series of robberies.

The first facts were reported by residents in 2017. But at the time, the investigation was unsuccessful, reports Le Progrès this Sunday. The young unidentified suspects thus continue their misdeeds for more than two years until, at the end of 2019, information directs the investigators to a teenager. This miner lives in a home in Tassin.

122 suspected thefts

After five months of verification, the gendarmes, who also found the trace of two other young people from the home suspected of robbery, impute 122 thefts to the trio. Arrested on June 2, then placed in police custody, the three minors would have recognized part of the facts of which they are accused, that is 94 thefts committed mainly in Tassin, but also in Ecully and in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon.

One of the minors, more involved than the others, was presented to a juvenile judge last week and placed in a juvenile establishment. His two cronies were also indicted but were left free, according to the regional daily.
